Dear BlueStar Canada reseller,
Please be aware that effective April 1, 2009 in compliance with the Ontario Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Program Plan administered by Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES), all customer orders shipping into the Province of Ontario may be subjected to the Ontario Electronic Stewardship's Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) fee.
BlueStar Canada, as a distributor, is designated as a steward and is obligated under Ontario regulations to collect and remit this fee to the Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES).
Sales of electronic products to a reseller may be exempt from charging the EEE fee with the condition that the reseller registers with OES and has declared himself as a remitter of applicable fees on applicable EEE products purchased from BlueStar Canada.
Resellers may register as a remitter online with OES and elect to become a BlueStar Canada remitter by following four the steps described below. Resellers will need to elect to become a BlueStar Canada remitter on the OES website by entering into a three-way remitter agreement with OES and BlueStar Canada.
To become a remitter for BlueStar Canada
STEP 1 - Register at OES site:
https://mtsreg.oesdatasystem.ca/login.aspx
STEP 2 - Request to become a remitter for BlueStar Canada at:
https://mtsreport.oesdatasystem.ca/login.aspx
STEP 3 - Download and Read Remitters Agreement from the OES web site:
http://www.ontarioelectronicstewardship.ca/pdf/stewards/remitters_agreement.pdf
STEP 4 - Email recycling@bluestar.ca with your OES application number along with confirmation that you intend to enter into a remitter agreement with BlueStar Canada and OES.
This will allow you to declare to BlueStar Canada your intentions to complete the Remitter process, but recognize the need to see the final agreements before executing the Agreements.
OES suggested wording may include:
Dear Supplier/Customer,
Our organization is intending to enter into Remitter's (or a Sub-Remitter's) Agreement with your organization. Our organization has registered with OES and our Ontario Remitters' number is #####
Once the Remitter Agreement enters into effect you will receive confirmation, and BlueStar Canada will not apply any EEE Fees on invoices to Resellers. Designated resellers will then be obligated to remit fees to OES on behalf of BlueStar Canada.
BlueStar Canada may, at its sole discretion, decline a remitter's request.
BlueStar will only accept requests for its complete list of brands.
BlueStar Canada would like to thank you for your cooperation and for your help in contributing to the protection of the environment.
