BlueStar's recent VARTECH US/LatAm event at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach featured the first of it's kind Attendee Tracking solution featuring RFID. UHF GEN 2 passive RFID was used to account for the number of people attending various functions around the resort over a three day period. This was instrumental in gathering accurate head counts for the Fontainebleau and BlueStar at Workshops, the CodeZone exhibit hall and meal gatherings.Resellers, Vendors and BlueStar employees were identified at 13 choke points using 20 Intermec IF2 readers and NeWave antennas. Zebra's GEN2 ID badges featuring Impinj IC's were printed for each show attendee and worn around the neck on a lanyard. Smart Label Solutions readily integrated the solution into the Fontainebleau and also created the software which links each person to a unique ID in the badge. All readers were networked through the existing hotel Wi-Fi infrastructure. Double wide door entrances were capably managed with a single reader /antenna configuration while entrances featuring triple sets of double doors were handled by two readers and two antennas. Smart Labels solution was extremely effective and provided accuracy beyond everyone's expectations. No interference or shadowing issues causing missed reads were evident. Even when room changes had to be made, the reader and antenna were simply moved in minutes to the next set of doors and plugged into any Ethernet socket within 100 feet of the new doorway.
